Your Child’s First Visit

A Positive Experience

What to Expect

Gentle and Safe

Our gentle, friendly approach helps reduce fear, build comfort over time, and create positive associations with oral health. When kids feel safe, parents feel reassured — care becomes easier for everyone.

Personalized and Unrushed

Every child develops differently, and every family has unique concerns. We take the time to listen, adjust our approach, and personalize care rather than rushing appointments or applying one-size-fits-all solutions.

Transparent and Trustworthy

We believe parents deserve honest explanations, straightforward recommendations, and no pressure. Transparency builds trust and helps families make informed decisions while feeling fully supported throughout their child’s care.

Kids Dentistry Appointments

After we connect with and get to know your child, we’ll help them settle in for a gentle exam and cleaning. Pain-free digital x-rays joined with kid-friendly team members helps remove all anxiety along the way. We fully expect your child will love their visit and be excited about coming back.

Orthodontic Appointments

The Journey Begins with a Consultation

Your child’s initial consultation includes meeting our team, learning more about orthodontics, receiving a complete initial exam, and finding out which treatment options will best meet your child’s needs. You can expect us to:

  • Review your child’s dental and medical history forms
  • Provide a complete oral exam, with X-rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
  • Help create a customized treatment plan that fits your child
  • Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment plans

Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have to determine which treatment is right for your child.

Finances and Insurance

Our team will help you with insurance claims and paperwork. We also offer a variety of payment options, including payment plans for orthodontic care.

Exams and dental cleanings

Our goal is to build trust and have fun! When kids get used to dental visits at an early age,
seeing the dentist is no big deal! When kids come in early and consistently, seeing the
pediatric dentist is just part of their routine. When they don’t, even simple things can feel like
a big deal. Cleanings and exams help keep their teeth healthy, but they also help kids learn
that the dental office isn’t something to worry about.

When should my child see a pediatric dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first dental visit by age one or
within six months of the first baby tooth coming into the mouth! The first visit at this age is
short and is focused on providing parents with information and recommendations to keep
teeth happy and healthy. We will check early oral development, give info about brushing,
feeding habits, and what to look out for next! We will demonstrate how to provide thorough
oral hygiene at home and place preventative vitamins, if desired.

How will the exam visit go for my child?

Every child is different, so every visit may look a little different. Some kids are ready to get intothe dental chair right away, some kids need to warm up to it. We have TV’s overhead withchild appropriate movies to help keep things fun and keep them entertained! We will cleantheir teeth with their choice of paste flavor, take x-rays appropriate for their age and level ofdevelopment, provide hygiene instructions in a kid-friendly way to fine-tune their habits athome, check to make sure teeth are healthy, see how teeth are coming in, and whetheranything needs attention.

Kids do better when they know what to expect!
